I have the Best grandmother in the world. On her birthday we decided to go to the big shopping mall “Ullared” in Sweden. We went early morning with the car and did shopping the whole day. Of course my grandmother should have a nice cake on her day. I was arriving to Sweden on the day before the birthday and my Mum was nice enough to bake the bread of the cake so I did not have to work the whole night /THANKS MUM/ .

We slept over in a small cottage and just enjoyed being together. I love to speak to my grandmother she have so manny funny memories from her time as young and I am always amazed over how it was only 60 years ago. I feel also lucky that i have had such a good time growing up.

Today we have a super day, we started the wonderful Sunday with eating “Metzge”, this you can during a period before the winter comes to Switzerland. All the small Village Restaurants are offering pork meat, a lot of different sausages, bacon and ham  which they serve together with a classic rösti, union sauce and “saucer kreut”. After this enormous lunch we went for a walk in the hills around, I decided to go for a run up the hill. I came about 10 meters before i stepped wrong and I could feel in the steps after that this I will never solve. I slammed into the ground with my nose down in the wet grass and only thing I could think about was how funny I must look. I probably laughed at my self  already before hitting the ground. All the other once also got a nice laugh. So learning is that after eating about 200 kilos of meat you should never run up a hill.

On the drive home we had a view over the mountains, it is so fantastic to see and often I don’t really understand that it is real. It looks like a picture.

In the evening my man decided to make some Appel- Mus (Mos) out of all the fantastic Appel’s we got from a friend. Now the whole house smells like a Appel factory but it looks really nice.

We also tried to do some apple chips in the stone owen, we will se in a couple of hours if it worked or not.

I have been on a Market for the first time with my cakes. It was a good experience to get everything done in time. I realized a lot of things. First of all cakes are not really made for markets when the sun is shining and it is 20 degrees out side. I had to have them in the cooler almost the whole day and then of course you can not show them. Second of all, cake pops is the perfect thing to sell on a market, all kids loved them.

The cake pops are the pink and green down to the right. Also the White cake with sprinkle of cocos was really a hit, this one I will do again.

Swedish Cinnamon-buns is of course a must

And some small bags with cookies in, homemade signs on them.

Have made a new cake topper, it take so much time and I am totally unaware of the world around me when I am modelling. There is a lot training that I need to do especially to make it go a bit faster. Here is a sweet couple who is thinking about how to save the cake world :)

Today I have been baking small cookies for the Markt in gansingen next weekend, will be so fun to show my cakes for everyone.

Below a receipt on the Sweidsh “Hallon grottor”

250g smör

1,5dl strösocker

4 dl vetemjöl

1 dl potatismjöl

4 tsk vaniljsocker

2 tsk bakpulver

Fyllning; fast hallonsylt

Have fun.

We live in a small village called Frick, it is right in between Zurich and Basel. This week there was a “City Party” during the evening. During a party like this they close the road through the village and fill it up with long tables. You drink beer and eat fried fish with your fingers.

They are playing traditional Swiss music and it was a really good mood. Standing in the looong line of people to get our fish the man behind tells his friend that if there is not enough food at least the REAL inhabitant should get. Even if I feel home in Switzerland manny times it reminded me that I am a foreigner and all Swiss people don’t want to get to know me. But the fish tasted really good and I am happy that there was some fish left also for a Swedish girl..

This tool is called “Slickepott” in Swedish it means “to lick” + “the pot”…hmm I do not have a better explanation and should probably not stay in this subject. Anyhow we all use it to clean out the last part of the sweet things we bake.

The one you see not he picture is the BEST “slickepott” I have ever used, the rolls royce of the “Slickepott world”, if you need to buy one soon please choose this one. It cleans all the sweets, it has a smart hanging function so it does not fall down in the pots and it feels fantastic in your hand so smooth.
